In fact, he might have been willing to take less to stick around, and TT would have made it a front-loaded, cap-friendly deal.

But I agree, TT assumed Hawk was going to break out, Barnett wouldn't regress, and Poppinga would get better. Frankly, I think Chillar has been our best LB this season, and that's not good given how much we invested in the other three.C.D. It's clear now (as it always is when looking back) that banking on Harrell improving and KGB coming back to pre-injury form on top of losing Jenkins is what did the defense in this season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5328789579487679553.post-48650801758101280092008-12-09T17:00:00.000-06:002008-12-09T17:00:00.000-06:00Granted, Aaron...and thanks for the correction. I...Granted, Aaron...and thanks for the correction. I always saw him as a major part of what was a pretty solid DL rotation the first half of 2007 (before those injuries to Cole and Jolly).

Funny how far the line has fallen, though, if you consider that Jolly, Cole, Kampman, and Jenkins were all still here.C.D. But you're right that they could have used him as the talent dried up on the defensive line this year...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
